We understand it can be hard to transport larger plants, like exotic trees and large shrubs — especially if you're ordering a few of them! That's why we offer quality delivery services of exotic and tropical plants including trees, shrubs or grasses across Melbourne. If you live in one of the 15 suburbs we've defined near our Hoppers Crossing nursery, we can deliver your order for a set fee.
If you live outside of these suburbs, we'll base the costs on distance by kilometre. In some instances, we can even facilitate same day delivery — provided you place an order before 1 pm, and we have the stock available. If you have any questions, or want a more accurate delivery ETA, get in touch with our team.
We certainly can! All Green can deliver any number of exotic plants from our nursery to homes and businesses around Melbourne in just a few business days. We determine delivery fees based on your proximity to our centre, including our exotic plant nursery, at Hoppers Crossing.
If you have any questions about the delivery process or would like to place an order, get in touch with the team at All Green. Our customer service department would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Creating your tropical paradise is as easy. First, you need to create a tropical microclimate in your bare backyard. You can do that by following these steps:
If you are looking for inspiration, visit our exotic and tropical plant nursery in Hoppers Crossing, in Melbourne’s southwest. Our expert landscapers are hard at work bringing similar gardens to life in our Landscape Avenue section.
With a bit of care and attention, many exotic plants will thrive in Melbourne's unique soil content and climate. At All Green, we stock many popular varieties of tropical plants. Here are some of our favourites:
Tropical plants prefer soil that is high in organic matter - exactly like they would be treated to in the rainforest. Many tropical plants will grow in normal garden soil in Australia.
But to get it right the first time, it's best to introduce your tropical plants into a soil environment that is loose, fertile, and slightly acidic. Tropical soil should also be loosely packed to allow the free flow of air and water.
If you want to know more about how to improve your garden soil before introducing tropical plants, get in touch with All Green. Our on-site horticulturists at Hoppers Crossing would be happy to help.
Some tropical plants love full sun, and some don't. Tall tropical plants and trees that grow towards the sky are usually pretty keen on getting sunlight. Other tropical plants that grow closer to the ground are usually more in favour of shade and dappled sun.
If you are growing a tropical garden, be sure to compose it with this in mind. Plant your taller plants at the back so that they get plenty of sun. Beneath this canopy, you can plant the more sun intolerant plants.
Yes! Australian native plants and exotic plants sit alongside each other beautifully. The maintenance requirements of plants are determined by the species, not the country of origin.
You'll need to take into consideration several factors, such as:
If you're still unsure about where to plant your exotic tree, ask our friendly team for advice. We've had plenty of experience in moving trees and finding optimal positions for them in any landscape.
Trees don't usually need much maintenance once you've planted them — especially not compared to other plants. But there are some things you can do from time to time to ensure they thrive.
Once you've planted your tree, you'll need to make sure it's watered every day for up to two weeks. And if you add mulch around the base of the tree, it will help it stay moist and prevent weeds from growing.
Once they are planted, trees generally require less maintenance than other plants in your garden. They will require very little in the way of protection from the elements. However, they can still benefit from a bit of maintenance every now and again. If you trim damaged branches every few months, this will help your tree direct nourishment to the healthy branches.
Yes. There's no minimum order on trees, so we can deliver to any project size. We take all the necessary precautions to ensure your order is protected on its journey to your site. The cost of delivery depends on how far away you are from our Hoppers Crossing nursery. For more information, visit our delivery information page.
At All Green, we stock a wide variety of exotic shrubs. But, if you want beautiful and low maintenance plants, there are our favourites:
This really depends on what kind of exotic shrub you have in your garden. In general, we recommend the following:

We do! No matter how big or small your order is, we can deliver to your home or landscaping site in Melbourne. Your order will arrive in just a few business days — and in some cases, we can even organise same day delivery. When talking about grasses, 'exotics' usually refers to ornamental grasses that originate in another country. At All Green, we stock a wide assortment of different exotic grasses from all over the world, as well as native grasses from right here in Australia.
We certainly can! Our delivery service is second to none. We can transport exotic grasses — and everything else you need for gardening and landscaping — to just about any address in the Melbourne metropolitan area. There's no minimum or maximum order size, so whether you just need a small number of plants or an entire field full of exotic grasses, we can deliver to you.
In some cases, we can offer same-day delivery. This is contingent on our driver's availability, and the time of day that you make your order. Get in touch with our office staff, and they'll give you a quote.
As a rule, grasses are easy to grow in a garden. They're hardy, fast-growing, and they look beautiful in summer and winter.
Even though our exotic grasses have their genealogical origins overseas, we source the actual pants from local growers wherever practicable. These grasses are excellently suited to Melbourne's climate, and it won't take much effort to help them thrive.
Different grasses need different kinds of maintenance. While exotic grasses tend to be lower-maintenance than other kinds of plants, there are still practical steps you can take to make them thrive and to stop them from spreading to parts of the garden where they're not wanted.
The best times and lengths for pruning exotic grasses will differ from species to species. You can talk with our team of experts either in our stores or online, and they'll be all too pleased to share their insights on the subject.
